The European voyages of exploration and colonization to the New World have been of great implications to the history of the Americas as well as the Europe and there have been several causes which led to it. The major demographic cause of the European voyages of exploration and colonization to the New World has been the growth of population in the Europe. The population growth, along with the internal migration to cities, provides the most essential demographic cause the European voyages of exploration and colonization to the New World. The major political cause of the European voyages of exploration and colonization to the New World has been the increase in the power of the various European countries due to the wars and occupations. The most fundamental technological reason for the European voyages of exploration and colonization to the New World has been the spirit of the age of exploration supported by the inventions and technological advancement. The most important economic reasons include decline in real wages, farm enclosures, mercantilism, and joint stock companies.

Engineering approach to safety and health has been highly appreciated for its advantages. However, this approach is not without drawbacks. Thus, reliability engineering is concerned primarily with failures and failure rate reduction and the reliability engineering approach to safety concentrates on failure as the cause of accidents. This approach makes use of a variety of techniques to minimize component failures. “While these techniques are often effective in increasing reliability, they do not necessarily increase safety. In fact, their use under some conditions may actually reduce safety. For example, increasing the burst-pressure to working-pressure ratio of a tank often introduces new dangers of an explosion or chemical reaction in the event of a rupture.
