From the tutorials, the basics of the company were learned with respect to the management of the supply chain (Jolley, 2014). From the supply chain, it was learned that the idea behind the supply chain management system is grounded on the fundamental concept. The first ideology is that every product that reaches the targeted consumer from the manufacturer, must undergo through multiple organizations which are collectively termed as chain supply. The second concept is while the ideology of supply chains is crucial to the success of any business, few firms have paid less attention to this and in turn, they have limited this concept to the supply chain that takes place within the four corners of their business. Consequently, this has led to disjointed and inefficient supply chains.

From the tutorial, analysis of Wal-Mart Chain Supply Management System was carried out also with consideration of the enterprise. The learning brought out the implementation to the US. The research methods that were used brought out the plans that the supply system has used to ensure that goals are attained. In the research, more could be done to bring out the effect of the supply chain on the consumers, the impact of the supply chain on other competitors. Improvement of the supply chain was also not learned and is an important aspect in supply chain management.

Learning on research skills

There are lessons that were learned from the learning style. From the research that was carried, it was learned that there is a need to become information literate. In order for one to carry out effective research, there is a need to use effective information technology and other techniques that one is good at.  Research skills also entail reading complicated texts and bringing them to an individual’s understanding. One may think that there is no difficulty in reading but in carrying out research, there is a need to properly analyze the texts that one reads. General sources are not always needed in research as was brought out. In the research, general sources do not give out the expected results and data that are needed for analysis. They are mainly used in gaining context. The research brought out the importance of what to use in referencing. In reference, there is a need for aiming at the credibility of sources basing on the requirements that are needed in the research. Referencing in this way will bring out the correct information on the research (Jolley, 2014). The reading strategy was a factor that was learned from the research as an important skill. In the strategy, one is concerned with the format that the research is to take with consideration of the objectives.

There was learning on the importance of the start of research. After carrying a deep analysis on the question to be researched one is ready to start gathering relevant sources that are needed for the research.

Section 2: Employability

Enterprise

            There are several factors that were learned from the enterprise of Wal-Mart Chain Supply Management System. It was learned that the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Wal-Mart partnership, established in September 2007, revealed the US-based retail group’s resolution to use CDP’s process to encourage companies in its supply chain to report climate change-related information. A preliminary pilot arrangement integrated seven of Wal-Mart’s supply sectors: DVDs, toothpaste, soap, beer, milk, vacuum cleaners, and soda products. This is important in making sure that the other competitors are aware of the company state. The main skill that was obtained was in terms of the reading strategy in research.

            Work experience

            From work experience, it was learned that for a supply management system, there is a need to adhere to consumers' wants and loyalty by always assuming that the consumer is always right. This brings about the need to ensure that the consumer is satisfied. The skill that was gained was that emphasizing the correct literature.

            Career preparation

            For preparing for the career, the research was carried out with consideration of deep sources without all the attention on general sources. Career preparation also was done through reading difficult texts so that the right information and data could be obtained. This is important as it makes one familiar with the career so that there are no many problems during the career (Jolley, 2014). The skills that were learned include reading difficult texts and minimal use of general sources.

            Leadership and communication

            In leadership and communication, all activities that were carried out in the research were well analyzed and well presented to make sure that all aspects of the research were covered. This was important as it ensured that no information was left out. Research skill brought out was effective communication.

            Personal, team-based, self-development

            During the research, there was the consideration of team building as more information could be obtained through this means.  Personal and self-development ensure that the principles that one has been applied in the research. The applications were important as they ensured that much information was obtained. Research skill learned was the need for co-operation in research.
